On July 22, the boys headed to Seattle to catch the Mariners (Jord's team) and the Red Sox (Bri's team) series and to just have a fun- no girls allowed- trip. My brother Rick and his wife Deb offered to let the guys crash at their house in between rounds of golf and innings of b ball. Over four days, they played 36 holes of golf and saw four games. Luckily, the series was split so both Bri and Jord came home happy. Bri was lucky enough to catch a home run off the bat of David Ortiz. Everyone had a great time. Lots of good food, fun and very little sleep. They came home ready to plan the next one, but not until the girls' getaway!
At the airport, ready for the good times to begin!
Of course, Ben got the window seat!
Ben had a hard time staying up with the big boys; fell asleep on the way to the ball park every day!
Bri and Ben ready for the game! Hey, Bri, where's your Sox shirt?
The boys at Safeco; still smiling!
The view from the Space Needle; a clear day and you can see Mt. Ranier in the back. Was it worth the wait???
Jord's first visit to the Space Needle... even though he lived in Seattle as a kid.
Ready to come home! Thanks Dad for a great trip! Where to next year?????

I've Only Just Begun to Shop...
Brian and I have some very exciting news......We are going to be Papa and Nana!!! Lindsi and Nick are expecting a baby boy in January and we couldn't be happier. It's been a rough road for Lindsi to get to this point so we are so excited and can't wait to get him here. Of course, once I heard the news, I just had to go out and buy a few things. It was tons of fun!

Summer
Well, it's been way too long since my last post; not sure where the summer went, but will hit the highlights of my summer since school is fast approaching...
My mom and I went St. George in June to do some much needed cleaning of the house. We cleaned the entire house in 2 1/2 days. It is sparkling clean. We also tried to do a few fun things so we caught up on some movies and had a fun dinner at Olive Garden to celebrate our hard work. My mom never stops and is such a big help to all of us. I loved spending the time with just her and I think it's an annual trip. Thanks Mom! You're the best.
I love water parks and so I decided to get the family a season pass to Seven Peaks. Well, it's been the Friday hangout for Kuri, Jordan, Ben, Braden and Abby. Kuri introduced us to the fine cuisine (Peaks Pizza) and we spent many hours floating down the Lazy River. It's been a blast!
Brian and I have been able to see some great concerts beginning with Paul McCartney! It was Sir Paul's first time in Utah and so we didn't want to miss it. What a show!!! He played for nearly three hours and sounded great. We also went to see James Taylor and Carole King and while it was a totally different mood, it was a great concert.

My good friend Amy surprised me for my b day with tickets to the Shakespearean Festival. Neither one of us had ever been and thought it was about time. We had a great time seeing Macbeth, Much Ado about Nothing and my fav, Pride and Prejudice. Loved, loved, loved it and it was a much needed getaway for me. Thanks Amy for a very fun and thoughtful gift. I think we are going to make it an annual trip!
And the boys went on their first baseball trip to Seattle. But that's a post for Bri and Ben to do.
Continuing on with plays...Brian and I went to see Big River at Sundance. It's the story of Huck Finn set to music. What a beautiful night to sit outside and watch one of my favorite musicals. Bri really enjoyed it, but he thought it was too long. Kind of like the book:)
And so....that's been my summer. It's been busy and full of excitement. I often wonder where the time goes...there's a few more days left so will enjoy it!
