I've Only Just Begun to Shop...

Brian and I have some very exciting news......We are going to be Papa and Nana!!! Lindsi and Nick are expecting a baby boy in January and we couldn't be happier. It's been a rough road for Lindsi to get to this point so we are so excited and can't wait to get him here. Of course, once I heard the news, I just had to go out and buy a few things. It was tons of fun!

Summer

Well, it's been way too long since my last post; not sure where the summer went, but will hit the highlights of my summer since school is fast approaching...

My mom and I went St. George in June to do some much needed cleaning of the house. We cleaned the entire house in 2 1/2 days. It is sparkling clean. We also tried to do a few fun things so we caught up on some movies and had a fun dinner at Olive Garden to celebrate our hard work. My mom never stops and is such a big help to all of us. I loved spending the time with just her and I think it's an annual trip. Thanks Mom! You're the best.

I love water parks and so I decided to get the family a season pass to Seven Peaks. Well, it's been the Friday hangout for Kuri, Jordan, Ben, Braden and Abby. Kuri introduced us to the fine cuisine (Peaks Pizza) and we spent many hours floating down the Lazy River. It's been a blast!

Brian and I have been able to see some great concerts beginning with Paul McCartney! It was Sir Paul's first time in Utah and so we didn't want to miss it. What a show!!! He played for nearly three hours and sounded great. We also went to see James Taylor and Carole King and while it was a totally different mood, it was a great concert.

We took Ben to the Bees game and had fun watching the "Chicken". Fun night with my boys.

My good friend Amy surprised me for my b day with tickets to the Shakespearean Festival. Neither one of us had ever been and thought it was about time. We had a great time seeing Macbeth, Much Ado about Nothing and my fav, Pride and Prejudice. Loved, loved, loved it and it was a much needed getaway for me. Thanks Amy for a very fun and thoughtful gift. I think we are going to make it an annual trip!

And the boys went on their first baseball trip to Seattle. But that's a post for Bri and Ben to do.

Continuing on with plays...Brian and I went to see Big River at Sundance. It's the story of Huck Finn set to music. What a beautiful night to sit outside and watch one of my favorite musicals. Bri really enjoyed it, but he thought it was too long. Kind of like the book:)

And so....that's been my summer. It's been busy and full of excitement. I often wonder where the time goes...there's a few more days left so will enjoy it!

Happy Father's Day

Today was Father's Day and I just want to tell my hubby Happy Father's Day! You are the best dad and husband, and we appreciate all that you do for our family. I remember when we were dating, I thought you would be a great dad and I was right! We had a great day with a BBQ at Nick and Lindsi's with the whole family. It was nice that Nick's parents John and Susie were in town. The kids gave Bri a new putter and tons of new golf accessories and a gift card to one of his favorite places-Barbacoa. In addition, he and I will be seeing Sir Paul McCartney in July! Hope you had a great day; love you!! All the boys and Brian.
The cutest kids in the world with the greatest dad!

First Days of Summer

It's been a busy first few days of summer....

On Saturday, I ran my first 5K fun run. Weight Watchers was sponsoring a 5K walk/run through Wheeler Farm. I always enjoy walking with my friends, but never really thought of running. I have been inspired by several friends running half marathons, so with my new Mother's Day running shoes on my feet, I convinced Nick to run with me and off we went. It was hot as the run began at 1:00 and I was super thirsty about 10 minutes in, but all in all we completed 3.1 miles in about 30 minutes. Here are some pictures of the day: 1st pic Nick and I all smiles before the run! 2nd half way through I was glad to see Bri and the kids cheering us on!

Mission accomplished!

Bye Bye Bella Vista

After being at Bella Vista since 1993 when Lindsi began there in 5th grade, we said goodbye today with Ben's graduation. I have to admit, it was harder than I thought it would be I cried when I sent him to kindergarten and watching him walk out of school today, I found myself a little teary. The time has really flown! Over the years, I have enjoyed being involved with the kids' classes and doing various PTA jobs. Lindsi, Kristi ad Ben were blessed to have wonderful teachers and great friends. So, I have taken some of the "last" pictures of Ben and various events at school. The "last" safety patrol day. It seemed like Ben was always doing safety patrol; he was just always willing to do it. He did a great job and enforced the rules very well!

The "last" field trip with Mom at Hale Center Theater to see The Three Musketeers The kids who have gone to school together since kindergarten. The future classof 2016!

The "last" field day after tug of war! Brandon, Easton and Ben
A few moms and I decided to celebrate "graduation" with a pizza and cake party. We decided we will plan their graduation party in 2016! Bella Vista has a tradition that on the last day of school, the 6th graders parade through the halls and the other grades "clap" them into middle school. It was really cool to see the halls lined with all the students saying good bye. Mrs. Cope, Ben and Mrs. Shenosky; Ben's teachers this year. They were the best and really prepared him for middle school. The "last' picture in front of the school. Bye Bye Bella Vista!

Busy Month of May

It's been a busy month and I'm behind on my blogging. I'll try and catch up with the highlights of the last few weeks. Ben finished his soccer season, and so after many years of watching both Kristi and Ben play, I think we have watched our last game. He had a great team, and they had a fun season and ended with a victory against the top team in their division.

Brian and I celebrated our 28th wedding anniversary on May 19! We went to dinner at our favorite Park City restaurant The Grub Steak. Then we finished off the evening with a little shopping at the outlet mall. During dinner we reflected our our 28 years together and came up with 28 great things about being married to each other. It is great being married to your best friend. Happy Anniversay Babe! I love you
Both Brian and Ben went to St. George for the weekend, and I stayed home and spent some time with my mom. We put flowers on my dad's grave and then drove to Logan so my mom could put flowers on her parent's and grandparent's grave. It was a nice drive, and we had a great lunch at Maddox's in Brigham City. My mom shared stories about growing up in Logan, and I was really glad to have some time with her. Here are some pictures from our road trip. My dad's grave. Dad has been gone almost 26 years, and we miss him. Love you Daddy!

My Grandpa and Grandma Blair's grave. I was just three when my grandma died, but I have great memories of my grandpa who was the sweetest, kindest man.
My mom at the Blair Family Plot

My mom lived on this property until she was ten and the old home is gone, but this old tree has stood for over 100 years and she remembers playing for hours under this tree. Every trip to Logan always includes a drive by, and on this last trip, we noticed that the tree looks pretty dead, so we thought we would take a picture before it's gone.

This is a better picture of the tree; it's huge. Thanks Mom for a fun day!

Mother's Day 2010

Benny; Love my boy!
The best daughters a mom could ask for-I'm doubly blessed! Love you both!

The best mom in the world. Love you mom!

My sweet mom in law,Virginia.

So I'm a few days late in posting my thoughts for Mother's Day. First, I just want to tell my family I love them and thank you for being my kids and for the wonderful Mother's Day. I have been richly blessed with two beautiful daughters, two handsome sons-in-law, a great son, Abby and Braden and the best hubby in the world. I hope you all know how much joy you bring to my life. I wanted to pay a little tribute to my girls, son , mom and mom in law and let them know what they mean to me.
Lindsi: You were the first. I wasn't sure I was prepared to be a mom and I worried about every little thing with you. I don't think I ever let you get dirty, miss a nap or go to bed without a bath.
You were such an easy child to raise and I appreciate your kind and gentle heart. I have loved watching you over the years and I admire the kind, thoughtful and generous woman you have grown into. I appreciate all the love you show me and I know that you will be an amazing mom to your children. Truly you already are. You are beautiful! Love you my girl!
Kristi: When I was pregnant with you, I wanted another daughter so badly and I cannot even tell you what you mean to me. You added so much fun to our family and I enjoyed all the time we spent in the car going to soccer, running errands and going shopping. I love all the advice you give me and for your never ending listening ear. You make me feel like the best mom in the world even though I think I fall short. I loved spending high school with you; thanks for always making me such a big part of your life. You are beautiful! Love you baby girl!
Benny: You were my last. I love you so much and am so grateful that you came into my life. Seriously, you keep me young. I admire the great young man you are growing up to be. You are such a good example to me, and I love how kind you are to everyone. I even love that you love critters and name all your fish! You are the best son in the world! Love you!
My mom: Mom I love you so much! You are truly one of the strongest woman I know and you have always been there for me. There was no better person to have around when I was sick. My kids all think you are the best too. I am the woman I am today because of you. Thanks for always supporting all my decisions and encouraging me in school and pushing me to be my best. I love you mom!
My mom in law: I have been very blessed to have you in my life. Thank you for welcoming m into your home and heart 28 years ago. You have always been willing to listen to me and I love to come to your house and just visit. Thanks for raising such a great son, and I know you did it primarily by yourself. Your strength is amazing. Thanks for always being there for me and considering me a daughter. Love you!
